OAKLAND, CA (May 25, 2022) — The dark. Monsters under the bed. Bad dreams. Thunderstorms.

These are the normal things that kids should have to fear — things that a comforting hug, funny story, or animated movie can debunk with ease. Instead, we find ourselves trying to make sense of yet another horrific tragedy that claimed the lives of 19 children and 2 educators at the most innocent of places: an elementary school.

Now through April 21, listeners can vote for parenting podcast to win the Internet’s top honor

OAKLAND, CA (April 6, 2022) — Educational nonprofit GreatSchools announced today that an episode of its parenting podcast, Like a Sponge, has been nominated in the 26th Annual Webby Awards. The nomination for Best Science & Education Podcast Episode positions “Banishing Bias from School” as one of the five best in the world in its category — and among the top 12% of the more than 14,000 projects entered from around the world.

GreatSchools.org and AffordableHousing.com partner to reduce housing frictions, increase housing voucher recipients’ access to neighborhood school information

OAKLAND, CA (February 17, 2022) — As many low-income families browse where to live, they often lack access to school information in their prospective neighborhoods. GreatSchools.org’s “Transforming High School” spotlights innovative ways educators are reinventing high school to make it more effective for all students

Nation’s leading school information site provides families of over 1 million students a new lens on school quality

OAKLAND, CA (December 2, 2021) — Parents in New York City have gained additional access to critical data that illuminates what happens inside the district’s more than 1,700 public schools each day. National nonprofit and school information site GreatSchools.org today announced the publication of “school climate” data from the New York City Department of Education’s 2019-2020 School Survey on the GreatSchools.org profiles of public schools in all five boroughs.
